Suma (Pfaffia paniculata) is a large shrubby vine native to the rain forests of the Amazon and other tropical regions of Latin America, including Brazil, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela.
Suma has been used for centuries by the indigenous people of Brazil as a tonic herb. Suma roots contain the important biological constituents, pfaffic acid and pfaffiosides.
